FacilitiesSince 1981, Christian Fellowship Academy has provided families in the greater Greensburg-Murrysville area with quality Christian education in a secure, loving Christian environment. Located on a scenic 100 acre setting within the bussing limits of 13 surrounding school districts, CFA furnishes a tranquil learning atmosphere for your child. The facility itself consists of sixteen bright roomy classrooms, a completely cataloged library, cafeteria, gymnasium and chapel areas. Computer Lab The Computer Lab houses seventeen Dell, state of the art computers, 4 color printers, a scanner and the ability to connect to the Internet. (Internet connection is supervised and screened). CFA offers computer classes beginning at the Kindergarten level of instruction. At each level, skills are developed that build on the previous year's skill development. Children learn to operate the printers, microphone, and Quick Cam digital camera. Skills are tracked by the teacher and parents receive progress reports. Children bring home a project printout each month. Software programs are chosen for educational content. There is no violence or negative reinforcement. At the high school level, we offer computer electives in Microsoft Word, Excel/Access, Front Page or Dreamweaver web design, and Visual Basic programming and Computer Graphics. Classrooms
Library The CFA library is available for use five a days a week, during school hours. Once a week, students attend a library class , during which they are taught library skills and given an opportunity to check out books to take home. The school librarian features age-appropriate new books to the students. Cafeteria The cafeteria area can accommodate 144 students at one seating, using portable lunchroom tables. A catered lunch program is available for students who wish to purchase a lunch. Lunches are ordered on a weekly basis. Drinks can be purchased on a daily basis. Each Friday, students can purchase Papa John's pizza. Lunch is from 11:30-12:00 followedby a 20-minute recess for K-5th grade students. Jr. high and high school students have lunch at seperate seating from 12:05 - 12:35. Ball Field
Playground Gym The Physical education program consists of a weekly class for K-12th students. Emphasis is placed on physical fitness through regular exercise and body toning; athletic skills necessary to participate in team sports are also taught. The gymnasium is home to the phys. ed. program as well as the CFA Patriot Basketball and Volleyball Teams. Art Room Students in FK-8th participate in a weekly art class. Students are given the opportunity to experience different forms of media and expression as well as art appreciation and history. Art is offered as an elective for High School students. Chapel A weekly chapel services are held on Wednesdays for elementary, middle, and high school groups, respectively. Students are involved in chapel beginning in kindergarten. Students lead in the opening exercises, praise and worship, and often in the chapel teaching itself. Chapel speakers and presentations vary according to age-appropriateness. Music A general music class is held weekly for K-6 students, which emphasizes vocal music and music theory. Private instrumental instruction is available two days a week with the band instructor. Two major school musicals are presented at Christmas and in the spring. Music electives are offered on the high school level.
